Shireland Sixth Form

About Us

A day in the life of a Sixth Former

The school day starts at 8.40am, with morning registration, you also have a weekly assembly.

Lessons begin at 9.10am and last for 1 hour, with a mid-morning break and lunchbreak, when it is permissible to go off site. This is seen as one of the privileges of being a Sixth Former.

You are issued with your own tailor-made timetable, which includes private study sessions. On average, there are 1-2 study sessions a day, with access to your own dedicated study room, as well as the school library. You are given a laptop device throughout your time at Shireland, to use in school as well as at home. The school day usually finishes at 3.00pm, however, Sixth Form students are encouraged to stay and access the extra-curricular support offered by staff.
