Progress

Progress measures student’s performance relative to their starting point and is a true measure of schools performance relative to its intake. From 2015-16 schools will be judged on the progress they make in each subject not just English and Mathematics.

This means that students at Shireland make nearly half a grade more progress than students nationally, on average, in every subject.

These results make Shireland Collegiate Academy the best school in Sandwell for Progress, a result we have achieved for the last three years. We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication by staff and students to make this a reality.

If you would like to learn more about progress measures the DFE has an excellent informational video for families here.
